Milbarian Phonology

Introduction

           The Milbarian alphabet isn't very different from the English alphabet, not counting the letter 'c, and q', long vowels and letters with haačekǐ. There are 32 letters in the alphabet: 

          Consonants:

• B - Banana
• C - Seats
• D - Dairy
• F - Family
• G - Game
• H - Ham
• J - You
• K - Kangaroo
• L - Land
• M - Money
• N - Nose
• P - Pig
• Q - Bach
• R - Row (Tongue trill)
• S - Sand
• T - Tail
• V - Vest
• W - When
• X is represented with Ks
• Y - Silent
• Z - Zoo
• Ž - Measure
• Č - Chip
• Š - Ship

          Vowels: 

• A - Palm
• E - End
• I - Bee
• O - No
• U - Rude
• Ǎ - Cow
• Ě - Good
• Ǐ - Height
• AA - (British) Bath
• EE - Café
• II - (British) Fleece
• OO - (British) Thought
• UU - Cute

There is NO stress

          In many words in English you can find stress on words. Like the word Canada for example. You don't say it like ka-na-da, you say it like KA-na-da. In ka-na-da, each syllable is pronounced identically, which is how it is pronounced in Milbarian, but in English there is stress.
